About Rudra nath temple Trek 2018 | Panch Kedar Trekking with optional meditation program
Far away from the busy city life, Rudra nath trek gives its visitors the mesmerising view of snow capped Himalayan peaks.
Rudranath is the 4th temple in the sacred Panch Kedar Circuit.
Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of a ‘face’ on a shivling at Rudranath Temple which is 3600 meters (11,800 ft) above sea level.
There is a famous saying regarding Rudranath Trek amongst local people, “Rudranath ki Chadhai, German ki Ladai” considering difficulty level in comparison to other panch kedars.
Rudra nath trek is one of the least visited temple in Uttarakhand.
Hence, it has an untouched beauty of it’s own, which makes it a paradise for trekkers, nature lovers & photographers.
Best way to start this trek is from Sagar village (also spelt as Saggar village).
You can also club this trek with Chopta Tunganath Chandrashila peak trek.
Where is Rudranath / Sagar village?
Rudra nath is located near Sagar village in Rudraprayag district of garhwal Himalayas (Uttarakhand) approximately 470 kms from New Delhi and 270 kms from Rishikesh.
The route to Sagar village from Delhi would be:
Delhi > Haridwar > Rishikesh > Devprayag > Rudraprayag > Gopeshwar (Or via Ukhimath if you want to cover Chopta Tunganath as well) > Sagar village
How to Reach Rudranath / Sagar village?
Jolly Grant in Dehradun is the nearest airport. It is situated 258 kms away from Sagar village.
Flights from Delhi are at regular intervals to Dehradun. One can hire cabs that are easily available for Sagar village.
The nearest and most convenient railway station is Rishikesh or Haridwar.
Both the railway stations are connected to several cities in the country. One can easily access bus or taxi services for Sagar from Rishikesh.
Sagar village is accessible by road. Many buses from nearby towns come to Gopeshwar at regular intervals, which is very near to Sagar village. One may even hire private taxi or shared jeep till Sagar village.

Day 1: Reach Sagar village. Trek to Panaar Bugyal (10 kms) and night stay at camp.

Day 3: Trek down from Rudranath to Panaar bugyal (8 kms). Night stay at camp.
Day 4: Trek down from Panaar Bugyal to Sagar village (10 kms). Night stay at village guest house.
