About Chopta Chandrashila Trek, Deoriatal camping & Meditation camp 2017

Chopta trek which is also known as Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila trek is the best way to feast your eyes with the beautiful Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi (7,817 meters), Trishul (7,120 meters), Kedarnath (6,831 meters), Bandarpunch (6,316 meters) and Chaukhamba (7,138 meters).
The Chandrashila Summit Trek is well known for 360 degree view of Mighty Himalayas from Chandrashila peak
This trek is also famous for highest lord shiva temple called Tungnath temple which is also one of the Panch Kedars.
Usually people club Chopta Chandrashila peak trek with Deoriatal camping (also written as Devariya tal), which is one of the most beautiful Himalayan lake and one should not miss the chance to do camping and meditation beside the lake.
Where is Chopta?
Chopta village is located in Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand) approximately 450 kms from New Delhi and 254 kms from Rishikesh.
From Chopta, a trek of approximately 4 kms leads to Tungnath temple and from there a 1.5 kilometers trek further to Chandrashila peak. The route to Chopta from Delhi would be:
Delhi > Haridwar > Rishikesh > Devprayag > Rudraprayag > Ukhimath > Chopta (Or Sari village, if you want to cover Deoria tal camping first)
How to Reach Chopta?
Jolly Grant in Dehradun is the nearest airport to Chopta. It is situated 226 kms away from Chopta.
Flights from Delhi are at regular intervals to Dehradun. One can hire cabs that are easily available for Chopta.
The nearest and most convenient railway station is Rishikesh or Haridwar from Chopta.
Both the railway stations are connected to several cities in the country. One can easily access bus or taxi services for Chopta from Rishikesh.
Many buses from nearby towns come to Chopta at regular intervals. One may even hire private taxi or jeep from any of these towns.
Day 1 – Drive from Haridwar to Sari 6 hrs drive.
Reach Sari village via Devprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi and Rudraprayag (Confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini River).
Our representative will meet you at Saari village.
After dinner, night stay at Saari village guest house.
Day 2 – Trek from Saari to Deoriatal (3 kms.)
Start early in the morning and attend a mediation program (minimum 5 participants required).
After breakfast enjoy the view of the lake and entire day is for relaxation.
Night stay at Deoriatal camp beside the lake.
Day 3 – Trek from Deoriatal to Chopta (6-7 hrs)
In the morning start a trek to Chopta via Rohini Bugyal through dense forest and meadows.
Arrive at Chopta and set up your tents for overnight stay.
Explore the magnificent view of the beautiful Himalayan meadows surrounded by dense forests..
Day 4 – Trek from Chopta to Chandrashila peak and back
On this day, after an early breakfast in the morning start the trek to Tungnath with packed lunch and climb up to the temple of Tungnath, which is considered as the highest Shiva temple.
After resting for a while, you can go for Chandrashila peak, which is approximately 1.5 kms away from Tungnath.
Later trek back to Chopta for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 – Drive back to Haridwar/Rishikesh
After an early break fast, drive back to Haridwar or Rishikesh and catch your train, bus or taxi. Trip concludes.
